My name is Melissa and my experience was beyond anything I could of ever imagined. I did a hypnobabies course, and practiced meditation regularly, and the moment I knew I was in labor was the most exciting moment of my life!
It was Aug 14, 2013 and I woke up in the morning to find that the was a puncture in the sac and I was leaking, it was very exciting! At around 5:30 pm i knew I was in labor, I was having pressure waves (contractions) every 5 minutes for about a minute in a half. It was never painful, it was intense sensations going on in my body, but I never let me mind translate it as pain and therefore never experienced any pain in my labor. As soon as I knew I was in labor, I made sure that with every pressure wave my jaw and hand and forehead were totally relaxed, and let myself sink down into the hypnosis. I also just kept reminding myself that everything that I was feeling in my body was totally normal, and to be fearless.
I believe this is the reason my labor moved along so quickly, in about 2 hours I was fully dialed and my little angel was ready to come into the world. The only thing was, the midwife wasn’t there yet, just the doula and my husband, so I went into the tub and relaxed into each sensation. The doula didn’t realize how far along I was because I was so relaxed! I labored in the tub for a bit, then in the garden, then back into the tub, it was bliss.
Once the midwife showed up about an hour later, it was time to push my angel out into the world, and that I did! About 5 pressure waves and 3 pushes per wave and out came her head!! It was so beautiful pushing my baby out into the world, I was really nervous about the pushing phase, but it turned out to be the most exciting of all, and actually (as strange as it might sound) felt so great! I have it all on video, we made a movie of my birth, so those that don’t believe it can see it for themselves!
Once I pushed her head out, one more push and out came her body, my husband grabbed her and put her on my chest and I was in total Bliss!! She was born at 9:36 pm.
It was the most amazing incredible experience ever!! I am so blessed to have been able to birth my baby into the world, in the comfort of my own home, with my husband and the doula and midwifes, it was perfect!
