I loved your book! I particularly love the emphasis on having a plan. I go through that in detail in the course. People would think you are an idiot for not planning for a marathon, if you told them it was in case things might not go right. Of course you are aware not everything may go right- it is a marathon after all- but you don’t focus on it, because what you focus on might be what actually happens! Birth is the same.
Why is it mums put other mums down for having preferences. And mums worry they will have regret if things don’t go to plan so don’t make any preferences but say they will “go with the flow”. And this in itself is so disempowering. I gave your book to one of my clients to read, as she had to travel to perth 750-km away for her “high risk” birth and I wanted to fill her with as much positivity as possible before her birth.
I think it is wonderful to have an Aussie resource with real stories to pass on to women who are looking for a natural birth experience.
I am happy to have it in my pile of books for recommended reading. I might grab a few copies too and see if my clients are interested in buying any bits and pieces I stock when they attend the course.
