Donna shares more on her amazing VBA2C experience….
A Modern Woman’s Guide to a Natural Empowering Birth. I was near the end of my second trimester and was feeling very desperate as I had no hospital support for my choice to wanting a vba2c- Vaginal Birth after 2 C-Sections.
I found support through a couple of face book pages about birth in Adelaide. One of the pages was posting about Katrina and her book.
I was a little sceptical at first as I had my guard up as I had been fighting my rights to vba2c and being pushed into an elective c-section. I trusted NO ONE.
I went along to the book launch. I was so amazed how wonderful and supportive Katrina was and it gave me a glimmer of hope that I could get my vaginal birth. At this time I did not feel anything but sadness and heart ache not knowing how to channel all this energy I was feeling. So I brought the book and the birth goddess card. The rest was history.
I can’t believe how much the book and cards changed me. I felt so empowered. Reading women’s birth story’s and how they succeeded in having there own empowering birth. To know they had similar experience to mine made me feel not alone and that to I could have an empowering vaginal birth that I so wanted. I felt like I was in my own supportive world inside the book. The birth stories were empowering and the goddess card “omg” the affirmations’ were a big part for me. I loved reading them and would read one every day and write the ones that ment the most to me on my vision board.
I took my time reading the book. It was quiet weird as I finished the book at 4pm on mother’s day and I started getting regular contractions couples hours later. Roughly 9:45pm I was in active labour. 11:53pm my lil girl was born VBA2C
I labored hard and fast and birthed her natural; drug free in hospital surrounded by my 6 birth support partners my husband, my mum and my 4 cousins who are like sisters to me. My midwife who I met that night in labour who was amazing! And another midwife who helped towards the end. There was also the ob who was on duty and his student and couple other medical staff that came in the room while I was pushing.
I Vaginal birthed after 2 c-sections. I did it. I know Katrina’s book { A Modern Woman’s Guide to a Natural Empowering Birth} and cards {Birth Goddess Cards} helped me to be empowered and stay empowered.
I did not care how many people were in the room as I was empowered and felt like screaming at the top of my lungs…. LOOK WHAT I CAN DO but thought it instead
I thanked the universe for sending me positive supportive people my way. Katrina I’m Glad our paths crossed.
